Anarkali’s come together again for all the entertainment and fun
We here at Indian News are proud media partners for the event Anarkali Disco night that will be happening later this month. Keeping this in mind, we decided to ask a few questions and give our readers a closer look at the hardworking, spectacular, and beautiful women behind this great initiative. Gargi Trivedi and Kashika Singh, the heart and soul of Naaree group.
Gargi Trivedi
Q1. The group was created on 15th April 2020, Is that right? What was the purpose and idea behind creating this group and why is it women specific only? Also, who is the brain behind the group.
A1. Yes, we created this group 1 year plus to spread positivity and today we are one big Naaree family of about 2200 strong Women. The purpose of creating this group is to get all women of different ethnicities together under one umbrella. Honestly, both of us were thinking to do something for women, after all our discussions, talking’s, and brainstorming, here it is!
Q2. Can we know a little more in detail about Gargi and Kashika individually, what do they do beside running the Naaree group?
A2. Gargi: I have made NZ my home for the last 21 years. By profession I am a teacher, but eventually decided to have a change in my career, working in government department from past 8 years now. Also, I have a jewellery business by the name of Naaree jewelry. Mother of 2 teenage boys and wife of proud husband. Always there to help anyone who comes my way.
Kashika Singh
Kashika: Since 2011 working with Bollywood’s only FM Radio Station 106.2 Humm FM in Auckland as the Sales & Promotion Manager, also hosting Mid-Morning Show. My family keeps me going with two girls and a supportive husband. A total people’s person, who loves to meet new challenges. After being in the hospitality sector managing hotels to being the voice over artist in Mumbai and Dubai, I finally followed my passion, my current profession is inspired by my father, who was the director at All India Radio.
Q3. We have seen that the group keeps organizing events that are also women specific, what is the main motivation behind it? Is it pure business or something more lighthearted approach?
A3. Naaree group was created to get all women together to show their talent, skill, to be connected yet supportive to each other and most importantly to break from our humdrum routine life, come out and have fun. All events are done with the support of our community leaders, established business associates and organization.
Q4. Kashika and Gargi have become household name in the Indian community here in Auckland, you have any specific plan ahead or a road map to what your future projects are?
A4. This is such an honouring statement that Naaree is every household name , it is only because every house has a powerful and super talented Naaree in there.
Q5. Next event is a musical dance event and is scheduled on the 17th of July, can we have more details about the event?
A5. 17th July 2021 is our Anarkali Disco night, this event is done on demand of many naaree’s from our group. It is going to be a night of music, games, dance and loads of fun for each one attending the event.
11th September is another big day where entire Naaree Group with families will be welcoming Ganpati Bappa at Mt. Roskill War memorial hall. It’s an free event with Maha Aarti, performances, food stalls and entertainment .
2nd October is Diwali Bazaar at Fickling Convention Centre, again, a free event for all Naaree’s to do their shopping under one roof.
Q6. If someone wants to participate or take part in the event (like we usually see your posts in the group) where can they send in the inquiry?
A6. We both are available on messenger, direct call for any queries & help anyone from within or outside the group.
Q7. Your message to the community women? Or if you are inviting them to come along and join hands for strengthening your group?
A7. You are Born A Naaree so be proud of who you are
